Because the collision data is more than just shape, it is also material (for what impact debris should look/sound like), and object type. If you got the collision from a static, it is going to do what you are seeing when used on a weapon/armor/misc/moveable static. If you grabbed all your collision from other weapons, then it might be a matter of not being able to do that for things like weapons that can be picked up.
