It's not based off of news stories. It's based off of research and interviews with high-ranking government officials, using their words only. The fact that he shipped off the Bin Laden family wasn't in the news. His involvment with his oil company and the Saudis was never on the news. It's not like Moore just watched the news and made a movie about it. He would know better than to base his movie off of news. Do you think Moore doesnn't know about bias in the news?

It's not based off of news stories.

Yes, it is.... It is based off of public knowledge, which comes from the news...

It's based off of research and interviews with high-ranking government officials, using their words only.

And sometimes not using their words... cough Kennedy cough... excuse me...

The fact that he shipped off the Bin Laden family wasn't in the news.

Yes it was...

His involvment with his oil company and the Saudis was never on the news.

That's because it was a known fact...

Do you think Moore doesnn't know about bias in the news?

You seem to think he is perfect or something... The only reason you are defending him is because you hate bush... and you know it... If this movie had been about Clinton's history you wouldn't be defending him...

I personally hate bush too, but I hate it when people try to say something is 100% true when it isn't... I don't like Moore because he twist facts and people take him seriously... It's propaganda... filthy slander...

It may be not everything true what he says, but he effectively starts debates and critics. Would anyone in the USA critize Bush without Moore? Certainly. But it wouldn't become public knowlegde without Moore. Sarcasts and humourists are needed in such times, humour is sometimes the only weapon against the mighty. And that I think is something you also must agree with, Tyjet.

Not everything may be true, but his method is effective. And the result is that people start questioning the actions of their government. Would they without Moore? I doubt it. They would be to afraid of it or they wouldn't see any reason. But because Moore has become known like this, the questioning begins.

You see, even in bad things (fact twisting) lies some good.

I don't agree Darnoc. Lying to people is not a good thing and the ends do not justify the means. However, tyjet obviously didn't read my post (or he ignored it) where I talked about how Mike never lied in his film, there is a big difference between lying and cutting out a small piece of an interview that really doesn't affect the point of the movie... *cough Rep. Kennedy*

I never said anything about lying... I said twisted facts, cut out scenes, ect. Those froms of media are misleading and dangerous.

I agree, but in the case of Rep. Kennedy I don't think that it really mattered. I'm not saying he should have done it, but it's just a really minor part of the movie and it's inclusion or abscence doesn't really do much for the film... it shouldn't have been there in the first place.

How do you know he didn't do something similar somewhere else in the movie? Well only he knows that... That is why I'm saying it is not safe to trust this movie... The movie was primarily made for money not for getting the truth out.

Lying is not a good thing, yes. But I have the attitude to always look for what is good in things. Mostly I try to see good and bad sides and then take the good things and leave the rest.

That is what I meant: Even when Michael Moore lied (what is not clear) it had a good side, since it started the questioning of the government, the critics and the debates.

Not necessarily. Much of Moore's information wasn't ever reported in the mainstream news.

If this movie had been about Clinton's history you wouldn't be defending him...

That depends on what it was saying about Clinton...

You constantly refered to lying...reread your old posts.

Probably not....he'd make a blood soaked action movie with lots of nudity if he wanted a blockbuster film.
