randerzo
On new game or COC from main menu the loading screen never ends, though the animation of the loading screen doesn't freeze (fog and rotating object). I am at a loss and google searches haven't proved fruitful as they all seem to address this problem as related to mods. I have tried this with mods, with mods purged by Vortex, and with a clean untouched installation with the same result. Can anybody give me some advice? Please and Thank You, Randerzo. Algabar
Strange case indeed. As you pointed out, infinite loading screens are usually mod-related.... There are just two things I can think of: - Did you really start from a "clean" installation of Skyrim SE? "Clean" in this case means: "Delete the whole Skyrim folder, not just reinstall or verify game cache". If you don't start from a brand new folder, you may still have leftovr files from mods that might cause trouble. - Permission issues on your system: The folder ".../program files (x86)" on your system drive (i.e. the drive that contains your Windows installation)is treated similar to a system folder by Windows. Therefore Windows might block access to necessary game files. Solution: Install Skyrim SE (and also other games) in separate folders outside "program files (x86). Other than that, no idea - apart from hardware issues. What about other games? Do they run without problems?
randerzo
- Yes it is really clean. I changed the folder name and installed a new one. -I tried copying the folder to my desktop and launching it from there but it did not fix the problem. -Yes other games all work fine. randerzo
I deleted my Skyrim Special Edition folder in Documents and that solved the problem. I'm assuming it was either skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini
