Custom object won't sit on desk, only on floor

Flushed with success at having forced my shelf to stick to the wall, I made a new tray to sit on a desk. Now it only likes to sit on the floor and is red when it sits on the desk.

Anyone have a solution?

Am using this solution as a stop-gap. Would really like to fix my mesh to work like a mug. Currently investigating Nifscope as I suspect it has something to do with the physics.

I've checked out the all the mod school videos; they don't go deep enough in Nifscope.

The Nuka Bookends are supposed to sit on surfaces.

I don't have experience with workshop items. I tried making dialogue quest once, following Kinggath's tutorials, but wasn't much successful.

Experimentation helps. And you can compare to vanilla or items from other mods, to see how they did it (in CK and NifSkope).
