GrndZero
Would Skyrim be classified as a CPU or GPU instensive in some aspects? I know it can use a lot of vram if using a lot of mods but things like loading times and stuff would be more CPU.I am trying to figure out which I want to upgrade.I am kind of limited on what I can upgrade as far as processor.I have an AM3 board with a 620 x4 OC@ 3.2 and I have a 5870 1gig Ati card.About the highest I can go on the Proc side is a Phenom 965 for around $90.I can up to say a 7850 2gig Ati for about $200 though.I am running quite a few mods and Reallike ENB settings and the games runs pretty good. I would like to experience some higher ENB stuff.
Kalell
Skyrim is more CPU intensive, but when you add an ENB it becomes pretty intensive on both. If you want to run higher quality ENB's both will need to be pretty good if you want to maintain a higher frame rate. I'm not sure it would be worth the price to upgrade to a 965 and/or 7850. You would get a small performance increase, but it may not be enough to justify $290. You may get around a 5 to 15 fps increase in your average frame rate with both, but I can't guaranty that. GrndZero
Yeah, I am going to save the money and just wait until I do a complete upgrade. I have been running some tweaks and after running this, I am thinking I can go to some higher stuff. Kind of a wacky way of doing things but currently I am using Razor game booster to run ATTK which in turns runs my SKSE. I also tried out Hialgoboost last night and I am running pretty much constant 59-60 fps while running around. I think I want to try some higher ENB settings after using this setup.
