hkxPack - Help

Hoping someone on the forums might have a solution to a problem I'm having with the Animation Kit.

I'm trying my hand at creating some custom weapon animations and have already hit a snag.

I have been following along with the tutorials provided by the Animation Kit, and am trying to convert some vanillia animations to FBX so that I can edit them. When I try to use the hkxPack that is included, it says that it completed the conversion, but there is no fbx file in the folder after it runs.

I've checked the mod page and it does appear others have had a similar problem but he original author is no longer working on the kit.

Does anyone have a work around for this, or a way to get these files converted?

Thanks,

Ok. So it seems to have something to do with the length of the directory where it is stored.

I found another copy of the animationkit that had been extracted in my downloads folder. For laughs I tried to do the conversion with that version of the hkxpack and to my shock it worked. So I thought then that my other file might be bad. I copied the files from the version I know worked into the folder where the other one was. No luck now it didn't work again. I noticed the error message that displays was much shorter when it was ran from my download folder, so I copied the kit out to the root of the drive just to see what would happen, and it started working again. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with either the length of the string for the folder path, or the number of subfolders, or something. I'm not sure, but at least it is working now.

Not exactly sure what the cause was, but I'm glad it is working now. Hopefully this fix works for the other people that were having the same issue.
