D0CT0RVIC
Hello all, Not 100% sure if this is where I should post this, but I'll give it a shot. I've been fiddling around with the creation kit for a while, watched almost every tutorial available, read even more and still am having issues with caves. I understand that I shouldn't rotate any pieces as they all have a general flow to them. However, I can not find any hallway pieces that match up properly with the cave doors, there is always spider-webbing of some sort. I feel like I've tried every hallway piece possible. Am I missing something? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I'm trying to have a large cave room funnel into a small cave hallway, which slopes downward. My idea is to create a cave house which is more or less an old Wolf/Bear/Animal Den that's been converted into a small lair. I'm using CaveGLRoomDoorB02 as the door into the large room. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! -DoctorVic
TheGreenLion
Hmm, you could try making a duplicate of the piece, Edit it, then click Edit on the Model so that you get the columns of the textures applied, and try to apply the Null Texture Set to the spider webs. It's a bit of a trial and error but I think it ought to be possible. Then you can use whichever pieces you want without spider webbing! At least that's the idea anyway, lol! Hope that turns out like I think it should. Oh and don't be afraid to rotate stuff and mess around, some things do snap together just so but you can always throw filler objects like rocks and dirt mounds in funky places. Noobo
Spiderwebbing with large Caves normally come from you rotating pieces 90-180-270 degrees. It looks correct when u place it but it will turn out wrong. always keep it a 0 degrees. I normally place out piece 01 02 03 04 in the void as a reference. pieces face north south east and west should remain facing that way. hallways sometimes needs a certain door piece - not sure of the editor id, but its a large flat piece with a door cutout at the bottom and as TheGreenlion said pillars, rocks and dirt mounds are great for hiding stuff u cant resolve Edited February 17, 2013 by Noobo

TheGreenLion
Well you can tell I've not worked with Cave kits, lol! Apparently this is some other sort of spider webbing you speak of. :P
