X-Com save file crash on loading - please help

Hi,

i have a very major problem with my save file in X-Com: Enemy Unknown.

I started my 4 th game on Ironman Classic X:Com Mode, and i am pretty far, with all plasma weapons and titan armor. I am at some random Ufo shot down mission, and this is a mission after the first Ufo base attack.

The problem is, whenever i load my one and only save game file, the game crashes to windows instanly. Needless to say i cannot play the game further and i dont want to start all over again after 30 h invest of my time.

The problem in my opinion is that the game bugged in mission and each tiem it tries to load the save, there is a corrupion, and thats why it crashes to windows.

 

In mission i was, i saw a mutton alien, i went around the corner near him with my assault class, and with 100 % accuracy i shot, but nothing happened, i mean my soldier shot, but it wosnt a miss or hit, the game just stucked i coudnt change to the next soldier, so i crtl - alt-del the game. i want to add it was my second character it turn within six, so it should not save, since game save bettwen player and alien turns.

anyway after i start the game after force cloasing it, the save file was already faulty, because it crashed it on loading to windows. And each time i tried it to load since it crashes.

 

My question is, are there any way i can repair my same game file, so i can continue playing, and not starting all over again after 30 h of play. Even if i could start this mission all over would be good.

You help would be much appiciated, and o wuld be glad if there would be any way to resolve my problem.

I want to add i am pplaying EU version, with Polish localization.

I am inculding my launch log.txt file in zip.

If my save file will be needed i put it somewhere.

So the rest of the game is working fine. I.e have you tried loading up a new game just to check that it loads into the tactical game? Also you haven't installed any mods recently...i doubt it as you were very clear as to the events.

 

It sounds like a simple corrupted save, which unfortunately cannot be corrected. All i could recommend is vertifying your cache and trying again. If the thought of starting a new game is off putting you could try a new game with a mod. Some of them a very good and change alot of the game mechanics (for the better too). Both popular and very good are Warspace extension and Long War mod.

 

Anyway, you should verify the game files through steam and try again. Also check that everything else is working fine. You could also try a fresh install of the game but keep the save file and then use it.
