noveltyh3ro
I am really disapointed of the skyrim water effects and waves (if any) so I was wondering if somebody could make some but incredibly realistic and good. I am not good at texturing or modeling that is why I do not do it myself. You could have small tiny waves or very big waves and maybe sea levels rising when you far away from land. The waterfalls better and more rich with water. Also maybe new overall environmental effects such as winds which can make trees swish and grass move accordingly. Purr4me
sea levels rising? you mean have the nav-mesh move? vertical up and down. it's nif file for one, though Speed tree data may be able to create that? I have seen it done and the Nvidia demo has that in it so you can see it can be done but, that's licensed software and very expensive. Water's edges being active would really take a new world of modding experts to create. I'll ask around. Kitty.
noveltyh3ro
Hmmm, I would just really like the see the water in skyrim much better and more interactive. Look at other games which offer much better water like far cry 3. Also changeable for example in a storm it should be really big waves almost like in movies. But you know what i mean. Thanks for consideration! :)

Thanks for consideration! :smile:Real water action can be seen in the "cry engine 3" , but it uses things the sky engine can not use, not only can't it be used, most PC's can't render it. But it is statics, the bad thing about that is, the player actions do not show in game in the water as games release using the havok core as it's base. what may come to lite soon, the near future is a way to have both. for instance. in fallout 3, this is a really basic example, just-out side vault 101, at the roads end, there is a water puddle. that is actually very large swath of area hidden under the map. the land texture at that spot is dropped. the area in the game world is equivalent to a Olympic size swimming pool. the player when passing through that puddle causes a ripple effect, action to appear as though it's real, in crysis 3, this does not occur so there's the trade off. but the game your talking about is a remake of crysis 2 basically. tell ya what, the librarian has in it , water falls, and the water is active with the player if I remember right, in fallout 3. don't know the link off hand. I also seen water falls in video of skyrim too. not sure if it is active or just for looks. I study all the games codes and posts about technical items, most can be duplicate with speed tree, and the creation kit's. the games uses 3 layers for the world space as it's data source. Just like playing cards separated by a set amount of space. the very bottom layer is an alpha mesh. center is the water mesh and the top is the land texture. the top piece is whats mutated to form the land, then you give it "noise" to make appear real. then you add more objects to that. the top layer is divided up on a grid, a set amount separate from the lower layers. the lower layers can also be grid phased opposite of the top. it can be tilted vertical too. If you add noise to sections of that, you can "simulate waves" but you may need to overlap a few to get the results your after. now, I know this is really over your head, I don't have any links ready to post, but if you have the ck" and the game, cut your teeth on fallout 3, it's faster, easier and more forgiving and you get to see it's results instantly with out fear of outside interference from steam's overlay. only the direct-x drivers deal with it. If you lay your hands on a system video cards install disc for Nvidea cards or ATI drivers disc, some come with demo software that have these interactive and controllable editors, you launch them and these intensive, number crunching demos run, you can alter them and see if that's what your after. this data can be downloaded too from the venders of the cards. water demos. tessellation can be altered if your pc is built to handle it. I have seen in the store demos on very powerful machines struggle with these demos. not for the faint heated. look around some, use Google to search for the terms. Kitty.
