Belial666 Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 Did you use BOSS to check load order,and incompatibilities?What videocard you got?Maybe you need updated drivers,or it can't can't handle all the mods that affect things with lighting.Though realistic lighting only replaces the lights without adding extras,so it's no lag.Try backing up your INI,and seeing if different vanilla settings make a difference.Ultra,High,etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ripple Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 Unless you have an older machine that requires ini optimization to get reasonable FPS, avoid tweaking the ini. Never use those hackey online 'Skyrim ini generators.' Most ini tweaks are intended to boost performance at the expense of game stability. We are at patch 1.8, with 4GB ram utilitization enabled. The current engine is as optimized as it ever will be (such as it is....). Recommend you delete your ini's and let Skyrim generate new ones upon game launch. FittyStim Posted February 17, 2013 Share Posted February 17, 2013 If I remember correctly, the only thing you need to do to change the blocky shadows is change the Shadow Detail to Medium (from Ultra or whatever you have), save, exit, edit your .ini file so that: iShadowMapResolution=4096iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096 Save the .ini file and make it read only. Play game, enjoy! I think it does affect distant shadows (can't access Skyrim right now to confirm) but everything is always a trade off...
