More texture problems.

A couple months back I had a problem with all laser pistols giving off a flashing white texture. I asked questions here and did everything that was suggested, reinstall eve, install new laser textures on top, removing all mods that modify laser weapons, etc. Out of all the smart people and great suggestions nothing seemed to work. I have since removed and reinstalled the game to a new directory (was in program files, now on my c drive with no spaces to ensure my new game was absolutely clean of any and all mods and as stable as can be out of box. This time the laser weaponry works fine but the problem resurfaced in the form of glowing white backpacks on paladins. I once again went through the entire routine of reinstalling all my texture mods, toggling archive invalidation, deleting entire armor folders, downloading brand new skins, and just about anything else I could think of. The problem persists. Does anyone know what is happening to my game? I already did a whole playthrough a couple months ago with flashing laser pistols. As you know the problem becomes more apparent the closer to end game you are, like when the enclave finally show up. This is all very distracting and I'm out of ideas.

 

Edit: Just reinstalled all texture mods manually instead of thru NMM to see if the problem was a misplaced dir. The problem persists :( I've read many topics about this but mos tare solved with archive invalidation or manual install. I have had no such luck.

At last I solved my problem. I tracked down the problem to a user error. In my armors folder (after uninstalling all armors) I noticed there was some additional files there that I don't remember placing. I use NMM to install a lot of my mods, so I already had the FWE assets package in my NMM directory. I simply deleted the armors folder from my game and manually re-extracted only the textures.

 

As a secondary side effect, I believe this may also be related to the problem I had with flashing laser pistols last playthru. One usually thinks if it's a texture problem then you should reinstall your textures. Obviously running MMM, EVE, WMK, NMC, etc I was lead to believe the problem was in one of those mods all the while forgetting that FWE has a ton of custom textures too.
