Changing hat colors

Hey guys, I'm new to the modding thing and the most I can do right now is edit values, etc.

 

I found a mod called "Vance's suit" and it recolors Tenpenny's suit a deep crimson red.

 

To match the suit, I want to create a new hat that is colored a deep crimson red as well.

To do this, I was thinking of just taking the "shady hat" clothing model and changing its colors.

 

Could someone help me figure out how to do this exactly?

 

 

 

NOTE:

I don't need to place it in the game world, spawning it from the console is just fine.
