Leminur
Well, I have got a friend that runs Oblivion perfectly on 1280 x 800 with high settings, he has a Acer laptop with 2GB RAm and Geforce 7200 video card, Pentium 4 3,00 GHZ... Then I was wondering, why do I run Oblivion 640 x 480 with low-medium settings, if I have got a HP laptop with 2GB Ram, Geforce 7200, Amd Turion X2 1,81 Ghz?! I tried the high settings just like my friend's but it reaches 10-15 fps (when I am walking around the city, imagine the florest). I have closed all the programs such as firefox or MSN, but it's still like that! What is going on guys? Help!
Vamp116
Sorry man but from what the other posts are saying Oblivion is not optimized for dual-cores.So all the work is being dumped on only one of your cpu's. :wallbash: You might want to try updating your drivers for gpu and downloading a cpu optimizer  Good Luck
maYuYang
Also tweaking the Oblivion.ini might help a little, there's a line like "forceMultiThreading" which can be set to 1, but tests confirm that it usually doesn't affect Oblivion's true performance
Leminur
To Vamp116: Ohh! I see! Well... I have the last update driver, but I don't know a cpu optimizer! Which one should I use! Thanks! maYuYang: I didn't know about that! How do I do such thing? Do I need to change forceMultiThreading to 1? Thanks as well!
