EsvDefcon
For a while, I have been looking around for Skyrim mods which bring Fell Beasts into the game. People make these mod requests, then nothing ever happens, so I have created this post to try and get some interest from other modders and 3D modellers. So, here is my idea: Bring Fell Beasts into the world of Skyrim.Make them player mounts.Give them attack animations, such as claw attacks, and grabbing people/horses/creatures.Screeching, which could be used as a kind of shout by the Fell Beast, to cause enemies to flee.Mounted combat (bows).Become the leader of the ringwraiths, through a new questline, and have the other ringwraiths as followers. (There is already a mod which imports ringwraiths (Nazgul) into the game. There are some mods which also import the Witch-King's helmet and armour into the game, but I want to retexture them, as they are not accurate to the films. (The Witch-King is the leader of the ringwraiths, and he is often confused with Sauron, although they are completely different creatures).Call the Fell Beast to you with a shout.Fully animated wings for the flight mode.Ability to dismount your Fell Beast in midair, and land safely, with an ability given to you by riding the Fell Beast. This ability is basically temporary invincibility, so you can survive the fall. When you land, there is a rolling animation as you hit the ground. This mod is perfect for role-playing Lord Of The Rings in Skyrim, and for use with other Lord Of The Rings mods. If you are interested in anything along those lines, then this mod is for you. It is not another mod to replace the textures for the dragons in Skyrim, but it is a complete flying mounts mod. You can travel through the skies of Skyrim, and grab your enemies from the ground, without anybody knowing. You can travel to anywhere on the map, leap from your Fell Beast, and begin your next adventure. This mod is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time, and I thought that I should try to get some help from any modders out there. We will also need some 3D modellers, and with enough people working on it, this mod shouldn't take too long. If you are interested in this at all, even if you aren't able to contribute to the mod, please leave a comment with any ideas. If you are, however, able to create models, and/or script any of the features for this mod, then please leave your name and I will add you to the developers list. You will be given all credit for your work, when this mod is uploaded to the Skyrim Nexus. For those of you who are not familiar with the Fell Beasts, or if you just need something to go off to make the 3D Fell Beast model, here are some pictures: I have also found a textured Fell Beast, made specifically for a Skyrim mod: Thanks in advance, EsvDefcon Edited February 18, 2013 by EsvDefcon
Deleted1308005User
Mmm..I'd keep the request a bit more simple.First, get the Fellbeast in-game, then start thinking about complicated quests and armors or so.By rigging Fellbeast to dragon's skeleton, it'd be able to do just what dragon can.> Fly> Breathe fire, could be adjusted into "screams" that cause fear> Grab enemies (Might be hardest thing to do. It is in-game already, but AFAIK it's strictly scripted when it happens)> Usable as mounts (With the help of Dragonborn DLC)> Act like FellbeastFellbeast is actually perfect idea, anatomy is really similar to dragons. (Two legs, wings, long neck and tail)Dragonborn adds slightly similar dragon type in-game, maybe it could be adjusted heavily? (I mean, it's almost like fellbeast, slightly thinner body and neck, remove spikes from back it'd be perfect.)As for the way how I'd make them work:Heavily melee based. So they'd use their "screams" only for crowd control. Those would be a nice change to default dragons.Looking forward to this. Hopefully someone is able to do something like this. EsvDefcon
Shadowjin, thanks for your response; I like your idea of rigging the Fell Beast to the dragon skeleton. Like you said, it'd move like a dragon (which isn't too different to a Fell Beast). The only problem now is finding a modder who would be able to create the mount section of the mod. I'm thinking of messaging someone who has had experience with a mounts mod, and asking them to write up a few scripts and the like. If I can get a Fell Beast model, it should be simple enough to import it into Skyrim.
Deleted1308005User
"it should be simple enough to import it into Skyrim."Umm, no. Rigging and importing is the hardest part. Not the actual making of the mesh."The only problem now is finding a modder who would be able to create the mount section of the mod."Dragonborn has everything that is needed to make it mountable.. And J3X made non-dragonborn version of dragon riding. So that's already covered quite well.It could be made to either require Dragonborn, or the said j3x's mod.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30945Probably some sort of scripts could be made so riding the fellbeast wouldn't require the shout from Dragonborn. Yeah, you're right about the rigging; I just meant as far as creating models for the Fell Beast. I am only starting to mod, so I will need someone with more experience for the rigging, but I am a 3D modeller. I can probably get the Fell Beast done, but I wouldn't mind getting some help with the armour and the weapons, etc. EDIT: I have just downloaded J3X's mod; looks really good- I hate having to use SKSE, to see that someone has finally made a dragon mount mod without it is great! With his permission, his dragon could be retextured for this mod. Edited February 18, 2013 by EsvDefcon
Deleted1308005User
Meh, can't really achieve anything fellbeast- like with mere textures.Gonna need some additional modeling.

I can build as many models as needed, but I need a scripter /animator anyway for the flying animations.
EsvDefcon
UPDATE: I have already began creating the questline for the Ringwraiths. As of now, I am creating their temple/ruins.
Deleted1308005User
Animations are already there if you are going to use dragon ones?..As far as i know, it's impossible to create creature that would utilize completely new animations. (due to technical limitations)

As far as i know, it's impossible to create creature that would utilize completely new animations. (due to technical limitations) Oh, yeah I forgot to mention- I wanted to add in a few new flight animations, such as when it is "hovering" the tail needs to be more curled, and the neck should have more of a bobbing animation during flight, and also for the grabbing animations when it picks up enemies (if this is possible, it will take a lot of work anyway).
