Hey,

3 years ago my dad buyed me a beast pc, but it had a bad graphic card ( I never played games, and it was supposed for my producing pc)

But then when i found skyrim, i couldn't play it on my PC, (i have a school laptop with a good graphic card,) so im always playing skyrim on my laptop.

But i want to play skyrim on my pc aswell

Do you guys know, if there is a trick or way to play skyrim with a graphic card lower then the minimum for skyrim?

Here's my 2-cents. I started playing Skyrim on XP without a proper graphics card. It was just a little "thimble-sized" video thinga-ma-jig that came attached to the motherboard. I played on medium graphics mode for months and months. 2Gb of RAM and a dual-core CPU.

I think the best way to find out is try it. Since you already own the game you can always just try loading it up on your PC and see if it works. If it doesn't work it's not like you lose any money.

For absolute performance:

Turn off AA + AF.

Go into your SkyrimPrefs.ini, turn anything that says "ishadowmapresolution" to 1.

^ Ditto for Skyrim.ini

Change "bDrawShadows" to 0.

When in game, open up the console and type "slp 1". This, combined with the above tweaks, will completely and utterly remove dynamic shadows, which are VERY badly implemented in Skyrim.

If you have an AMD card, get RadeonPro, make a profile for TESV.exe:

- Change the "mipmap Quality" setting to your preference (High Quality being default, High Performance being the fastest yet ugliest setting).

- Change "Flip Queue Size" to 5.

- Change Dynamic Frame Limit to 30.

- Ensure VSync is "Always Off" under "Tweaks" and "Visual".

Then, defrag your hard drive.

There are also a few performance enhancing mods on the Nexus, the best of which lower the textures of particles. By default, they are at 1024x1024 (or 512x512. I forget). The mod reduces them to 256x256, 128x128 or 64x64, with NO visual impact but a significant performance boost.
