Vulon
A while back, I posted about a rather aggravating issue I'm having with Skyrim. The vast majority of my game runs without a hitch. I've only gotten one CTD outside of Solstheim in recent memory, and that was my own fault, anyway. It was a momentary issue that I quickly fixed. This issue only cropped up when I attempted to progress through Dragonborn's questline. I had started up a new character on the day of DB's release, and hadn't even met with the graybeards yet when I first arrived on Solstheim. As a result, the Dragonborn questline wasn't activated. I spent a couple days just running around Solstheim, discovering locations, venturing into ruins, doing side quests, etcetera. Everything worked perfectly fine. It was only after I ventured back to Skyrim, met with the Graybeards, and returned to Solstheim after being attacked by dragon cultists that I encountered a seriously annoying crash. It only seems to crash around the temple of Miraak. I've done everything I could think of aside from doing a clean install of the game to circumvent it, with no luck. Tried disabling all mods, and it still crashed at the same exact place. Tried different saves, lots of little things here and there, everything I could think of. No dice. The only thing I haven't tried is teleporting to the temple via console commands, and that's because not only do I not know what command to input (coc something or other), but also because I highly doubt it would make a difference. I've included an excerpt from my papyrus log taken five days ago - DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript seems to be the problem. I know from my previous post that a couple other people have experienced this issue, but no one seems to have any knowledge on the error, or any workarounds. In any case, no one's speaking up about any. >.> [02/13/2013 - 09:53:41PM] ~~~~~ Footprints: Checking for DLC. NiennaNenmacil
I'm having the same problem. I've been crashing a few times today, playing around with different mods trying to figure out the problem. In each crash, "[DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript < (040177DB)>]OnPackageStart()" is the last line, regardless of what mod tweaking I've done. Not really sure what to do at this point, nobody seems to know what the problem is. Edit for clarity: I'm experiencing crashes outside of Windhelm on the road. This is a new character and I have not been to Solstheim yet, though I do have DB installed and loaded. From what I can tell through my papyrus logs and my own messing about, it's not my mods that's causing this. QuequetteNow74
Hi, I've got the same problem and unfortunately, no solution... I crash like everytime I go in front of Solitude. I thought it cames from my mods because when I disabled some, I was able to play normally (or at least, a bit more longer). But tonight I've made a new save with only a few mods ("Alternate Start" to be able to reach Solitude quickly, "SFO" to avoid buggy trees, etc.) and then I've reloaded it, adding one or two mods each time until it crash (testing it by crossing the river at the Solitude sawmill and coming back (most of the time, I crash when I start to wander in the wood behind the river)). So as you, I see at the end of every papyrus log file this line (mostly multiple lines) :[02/19/2013 - 08:36:13PM] [DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript < (040177DB)>]OnPackageStart()However, I didn't test if the game was still crashing with only DLC + Unofficials patches, gonna try it. Anyone knowing how to fix this problem is welcome ! ^^ EDIT : Have you checked this topic about DragonBorn CTD ? It could come from uGridsToLoad (value greater than 5) http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/908667-dragonborn-ctd-and-freezes/EDIT 2 : Well, it didn't solve the problem... Vulon
Huh...interesting. I thought it was a problem limited to some aspect in DB's questline. I have yet to experience any issues outside of Solstheim. I checked my grids in Skyrim Config and they're set to 5 - I've never tinkered with 'em. NiennaNenmacil
Huh...interesting. I thought it was a problem limited to some aspect in DB's questline. I have yet to experience any issues outside of Solstheim. I checked my grids in Skyrim Config and they're set to 5 - I've never tinkered with 'em. I've never changed mine either. I played around yesterday trying to get some stability. Changed my Papyrus settings according to this post: http://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=352 I also ended up moving my game over to my SSD using this program http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover Neither of those worked by themselves, so I loaded up the mods I wanted, excluding two that I thought were causing me problems: Bellyache's New Dragon Species and Dovahkriid - the Dragon Lords. Dragon Lords was causing a repeating script in my Papyrus logs due to a fix that prevents them from spawning until a certain point in the main questline. The new dragon species doesn't have such a fix, and so it spawned dragons before I was supposed to encounter any, so I wanted to disable it. I think uninstalling one or both of these inadvertently corrupted my save (I had tried to remove them well before this point), because I still couldn't play the save I was working on. I loaded up an earlier save that was free from these two mods and I stopped crashing on the path out of Windhelm. I'm not sure if this is your problem, but I thought I'd let you know what I found out about my crashes. Hopefully my stability will stay, and if it doesn't I'll probably be back here :P
QuequetteNow74
I also tried to stabilize the game tonight, but I give up... It's still crashing with only :Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmHearthFires.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.espRealistic Lighting.espRealistic Lighting Patcher.esp But I can't tell if the DLC2PillarBuilderActorScript error is still because i'm unable to get a papyrus log (could get some yesterday but I don't know how)... Vulon
You mean, you can't find them? Papyrus logs are located at C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script. I know what you mean, though. I've all but given up, myself. I was really excited about Dragonborn, but my excitement's pretty much dead after well over a week of struggling with this issue. : /
QuequetteNow74
I mean Papyrus doesn't create log files everytime I play, it's quite strange. It's like it creates logs only after like playing for 1 hour ^^(I tried to type "dps" in the skyrim console to force Papyrus dumping its logs but it doesn't seems to work : / ) Too bad, this game could be so awesome with a few mods/dlc and no crashes -_- ...
