dezdimona
Oh, and dezdimona, of course you can be an angel... As long as you've got a 'sexy angel voice', you could be the elven singer in the highest peaks of the heavenly snow mountains That would be cool right? That would be very cool. And those that have heard my voice, have found it enjoyable.Good luck on your endevor.
Reiacta
I have done some thinking about this today, and i think it would be possible to create an even cooler mod than i originally imagined it to become. This is what i'm thinking of: 1: make everything in the world a bigger distance to travel, and have 'someone' design a breathtaking map for it. 2: make wolf packs in the wilderness, gazelle troops, and the coolest of all big bandit camps with up to 10 bandits. Everything has to get you feel like you are there to make a difference, and you really need to watch your step. Bandits that guard roads day and night, but you have to go by road because the oblivion world is going to be very dangerous in this mod, so you can not avoid them, but maybe by quests destroy them from the inside?. Maybe even a bandit guild? Make quests with bandits that for example raid lonely taverns, farms and mines regularly. Rivalling goblins would also be cool. (like the quest on the bridge in the east side of the map, near the far away bridge forgot it's name) 3: be able to hire 'travel companions'. When you travel a large distance (i want to do something with the fast traveling being harder, and maybe impossible) you should be able to hire guards, or mercenaries to defend you on the road. Guards that use dogs to scout for them (maybe its possible to give them a detect life ability so they can see everything from a distance, and thus warn the guards). 4: altering the 'wait' and 'sleep' actions in the game. In vanilla oblivion it's way to easy to get yourself from getting killed. Only sleeping will heal you, waiting won't anymore (if this is possible, god i hope so). Maybe giving the player a rucksack in which he can put a matras? 5: If the 4 steps above have been completed, i will come to the heaven part. This will include 3 different 'heavenly planes' like there are different oblivion planes. A world with a snowy and divine mountain area. One world with a green valley with the sun always shining bright. And a world involving an 'endless room' with mist over the floor. The floor has to be black and white blocks (the traditional kitchen floor look). How this heaven is going to show itself in the game, and why these heavens will be there will be a secret.(dont want anyone to steal my idea, the cosmetic ideas can be used, but not the heart of the idea) Now if anyone has some advices or good ideas i would be happy to hear. If anyone would help me, it would even be greater, and if you think someone will be into helping me please tell me whom so i can contact that person. I think that i could be starting this in something like 2 weeks, then i would really make some preparations by finding the right people to do this, because clearly i won't be able to do this on my own. Don't hesitate to tell me what you think about this, and how you think i should be handling this, tell me where you would start, and what you would do last to make the mod build smoothly. After all this will be my first mod (but i told myself i'm going to do it, and i never lie to myself ;)) (One little thing, it would be so cool to have some good music for these realms, so please advice me about anyone you know, and certainly when you make music yourself. Also i need voice actors, maybe you're the one for it? I'm eager for your participation, just don't miss the opportunity =D)
QQuix
My suggestion for you is to go after your Heavenly Oblivion and forget about changing/stretching/enlarging Tamriel. Several reasons for this:1- I don’t think it is technically feasible with the CS (maybe some external tools)2- If you just stretch it, all slopes would be affected (kind of mountains turning into hills)3- If you figure a way to insert, say, a row of cells, it will be A LOT of work to fill them with trees, make the edges match the neighboring vanilla cells etc4- There are several reports on the WIKI about a few cell in Tamriel that are bugged. If you touch them, your mod crashes.5- If you find a way to do it, very few people will use it, as most likely it will be incompatible with many popular mods, like Open Cities and Unique Landscapes. Sorry about being so negative about it. If you want to try it anyway, I suggest you create a small world, something like 4x4 cells, to exercise whatever technique you may find for stretching it or inserting cells. If you want to implement items (2) (3) and (4) from your list (which sound cool), create a new worldspace and implement those ideas there (check the WIKI Worldbuilding Tutorials) Best of luck... ihateregisteringeverywhere
Oh I actualy remember reading a topic 'bout a bugged cell. It was 3,3 or thereabouts I think. Rather weird when you come to think about it.
wasder
AS much as I think Cyrodil is far to small geographically compared to the real world, I can't imagine a way to make it bigger without screwing up existing things. However, I'm no modder.
Reiacta
It's a modders task to think of a way making it possible. But if some cells really are bugged that will give alot of problems, i'll dive into that. Thanks for telling, i might find a way around it (or someone else has). Let's keep the spirit up =D 1: Arguable2:I'm planning to enlarge the mountains to, in a way to make it real mountains. Right now they are hills i think. Way to easy to get on top of some (don't need roads... i want to make roads seem usefull in this mod, it has to feel big, it has to feel real).3: i have a lot of time4: now that sucks, have to look that up i think5: seriously, this will be way cooler than both :P no it probably won't, but if it works i truly think it will amaze a good number of players because they will finally see how i think oblivion is meant to be. It is indeed meant to be a large world, but it just plain isn't. I guess people don't fully realize that. Now do you think that if i scrap the enlargening, but adding the things i was talking about, that would be a significant change? Enough to make it worth modding? Btw one thing i won't do: adding items/monsters and stuff, there are enough other mods which can do that. So the mod would solely exist out of already existing items. QQuix
It's a modders task to think of a way making it possible. . . .That is the spirit !!! I suggest, then, that you move the enlargement down in your priority list and start with the Heavens or the ideas presented in items 2-3-4. These are enough to fill your available time for the next year. Now do you think that if i scrap the enlargening, but adding the things i was talking about, that would be a significant change? Enough to make it worth modding?I like your ideas, but I am more a modder than a player, therefore my opinion is not significant.I encourage other readers of this thread to tell you what they think.
