[WiP] HK417 reproduction *kinda*

Starting to look great man! Definitely a huge improvement so far and I'm looking forward to more :P The oddness of the buttstock comes from the fact that the plate looks rounded, which is very out of the ordinary. Not like you'll see it ingame unless you're posing with it though ;)

 

IIRC (I've been sitting in blender as well, hadn't touched the game apart from testing in a while) the AK anims are a better fit for an AR-style rifle since the bolts are roughly in the same spot. You might have to mirror the model to match bolt with anim, but eh-most games do that anyways so.

 

to the people bitching about the buttstock: it looks a bit weird, but for all you'll see of it in-game, it might as well be a purple bunny.

 

Quick edit: NEVERMIND what i just said, lol. Took a closer look at the renders and I see that the sight is in fact perfect-it just looks weird in the in-game shot for some reason.

Hi there ...

no, i did no give up on this ^^

here´s the progress:

major change: no silencer but G36-style flash-hider (muzzle diameter fits the ingame sniper-rifle ... if theres a difference in muzzle diameter between the assault rifle and the sniper rifle ... well i did not find it)

but now comes the problem: the Texture..

i did one, even with an bumpmap, but that makes the rifle look like a grey, ugly swamp. :wallbash: :confused: :closedeyes:

 

if anyone is interested in making a texture, please (pretty please) tell me. I will provide any help i can (uv-map-tga, etc. )

At the moment i lack the motivation to try harder on this :(

how about a scope?

make it a semi-automatic sniper...

 

 

Or better yet, make that a special version you can pick up with a different ammo type.

 

It's actually beautiful so far. Though I'd suggest changing the stock to be more like the pictures. It'd make the model look so much better.

Well that would be according to real life, so yes, because that is an HK417, semi auto 7.62x51, while the regular version wich can go full auto is the hk416, 5.56.

about the HK is not that HK417 is semi auto version and HK416 is auto one

 

HK417 is the one chambered for 7.62 NATO while the 416 for 5.56 NATO

 

HK417 is a 500-600 rpm assault (or better battle) rifle that comes in different configuration too

it goes from "sniper" to "assault"...

the one in the pic is probably the 20'' barrel sniper version with big scope

but the assault version have just a 12'' barrel (HK416 comes in 10'' and 14'' barrels to do acomparsion)

 

the one of the model looks the 12'' barrel assault version so is all ok :)

 

 

(btw about the g36.... someone should made the g36k not just the usual g36 or g36c :P)

yep, the buttstock ... well maybe i´ll enlarge it more in the z-axis

 

the gun gesembling a g36-type weapon (not trying to be an accurate one ;p) hsa a normal mag, thats just a render/viewing angle/blender-shading misconception.

The magazine is of normal rectangular shape :)

but since my game started to act funny as of today, i just can say, that it works and the reload works, too (no not for the G36 handle ;) )
