RusMolot
Hello everyone, I'm a big fan of XCOM and UFO games, and I love the dynamic feel of the XCOM EU but I despise any game that forces me into a "stamped" class. How hard would it be to rework the leveling system to work off of skills? For instance, instead of having a heavy or assault class, you have a heavy skill AND an assault skill, and you can mix and match perks from both based on your levels in each of these? I'm alright with programming, but I have no experience modding, I'd love to help. If someone is willing to contact me and guide me through the process that would be awesome. [email protected] Cheers! PS. anyone know if it is possible to add regions to the map?
bokauk
People have been working on customising the Perk trees. You'll find more info about it and templates at the end of the More Notes on Custom Soldier Skill/Perk Trees thread
SeraphicLaw
I personally would like to see the assigning of a class to rookies as a choice, not a random thing - I just had a game where I got one assault unit (who had 28 will and was on her way out the door), one support, three snipers and three heavies only to take two rookies out on the next mission and get two more snipers! Even in a late-game when I mass recruited soldiers to weed out low will recruits I noticed a FAR larger percentage of heavies and snipers than assaults and supports - and I would often only wind up with 5ish supports out of 40+ recruits.
