1. Install Racemenu

2. Download the Character preset MANUALLY and unzip the download.

3. Copy the preset files again MANUALLY to their destinations:

Preset files generally go to .../Skyrim SE/data/SKSE/Plugins/Chargen (side note: if you don't have the "Chargen" folder, simply create it in Windows Explorer)

Attention: the .json file (the actual preset) goes in a subfolder fo "Chargen" named "presets". Again: If this folder doesn't exist yet, create it yourself.

The .nif and .dds file from the preset go directly to the "Chargen" folder.

In game, open Racemenu. Go to the "presets" tab. Now hit F9 (default setting) to show a list of presets. The downloaded preset should now appear in the list.

Caution: To make a character look exactly like on the mod's page, you may have to download other mods. They SHOULD be listed in the "requirements" tab in the description.

EDIT: Before you load a preset, make sure you selected the correct race. E.g. a Nord preset will only work on a Nord character. If you still get deformed heads, there's a workaround:

1. Select the required race.

2. Go to the "sculpt" tab in Racemenu.

3. Open the list of stored sculpted heads by pressing F9.

4. Load the sculpted head

5. Now apply the preset in the "presets" tab (again F9)

So I've been following what you say and still can't figure it out. I am very sorry but I'm also super new and not knowing of how to work a PC. It is sad but if you could link me to a video perhaps? I'm better at visual demonstrations of course If you don't have the time that is fine and I hope you stay safe during this harsh time!

I also have a discord which I can stream and you can direct me. My discord is Jumbly#8954

Unfortunately I'm not a "discord guy". But I'll help here if I can.

Since you mentioned that you're quite new to the whole modding and computer thing, this video might help. Unfortunately, I didn't find a specific tutorial about installing Racemenu presets, but this step by step explanation on how to install mods manually should also be helpful. In connection with my previous post, it should give you a better idea of what to do.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask. If possible, tell us what you're doing exactly or at what step of the process you are. The more precise your questions, the better the answers...
