Fallout 3: Resident Evil mod

Imagine if we added Umbrella Corp. to the fallout equation. I doubt a multi-billion dollar military and pharmaceutical company would let something as small as nuclear Armageddon stop their endeavors. They would have bunkers and facilities able to survive on par if not succeeding what the enclave have. If anything this post apocalyptic wasteland would give umbrella even more of a opportunity to carry out their twisted research.

 

This is my idea for the Fallout 3 Resident Evil mod.

 

Imagine throwing in Umbrella Corp into the fallout world with its own outposts labs and headquarters giving them all new quest weapons and gear for the player to earn. That would give the player a nice amount of bonus playing time and more gear to earn through quest, plus it would be a great bonus for anyone who happens to be a big zombie or Resident Evil fan like myself :]

 

So heres what I propose.

 

I currently have a Umbrella Enclave replacement mod out. Now I'm no skinner, I'm a map maker so this mod isn't really much. Also I'm looking for Umbrella to be their own faction and not replace the enclave. The mod I released is to just get the Idea out and give people the feel of Umbrella in Fo3.

Now this is in no way going to be the final models for the Resident evil mod. I've already gotten several recommendations for different armours and styles which I plan to put into effect. I am currently working on a map for the mod. It's an umbrella lab and testing facility except this ones been overrun. The main doors are sealed and guarded by umbrella hazmat forces while the inside is a mess of overturn office and medical equipment and swarming with zombies. I'm completely done with the shell of the lab and I'm currently doing cluttering.

 

So this is what im going to need from the community.

 

1. Modelers

2. Skinners

3. Mappers

4. Scripters

5. Beta Testers

Now I kinda want to go over a few things about the content: NOTE THESE ARE ALL SUBJECT TO CHANGE. NOTHING IS FINAL.

 

Ideas will be added and changed here as I see fit.

 

1. Umbrella's facilities will consist of 3 identical but very different labs. (1 overrun, 1 Low security conducting minor research, 1 high security conducting major research) 1 headquarters, 1 Weapons facility, 5 -6 various scattered small outdoor research posts. I have the layout for the labs done already, they just require different content.

 

2. Npcs. I have in mind a couple of npcs. 1. Umbrella Scientists. 2. Umbrella Security guards, standard shirt pants and cap no armor. 3. Umbrella hazmat team, armored hazmat suits. 4. Umbrella Special forces, Riot helmet and body armor. 5. Umbrella Elite guard. Power armor. Well we all know that this is the year 2277, it would be unreasonable to have Leon and Chris running around, But considering Wesker isn't human I'm pretty sure he'll have a place somewhere near the top of the corp this time around :]

 

3. Weapons Now then, we cant let an all powerful organization like Umbrella run around the wasteland using old scavenged guns can we? Of course not, Umbrella has its own brand and line of weapons and ammo produced in it armory. Ideas so far include. 1.G3 assault rifle 2. XM8 rifle 3. Beretta standard issue 4. "purifier flame thrower" 5. spas-12 shotgun 6. Raging bull revolver 7. UV-bio bullets (glow like nuka cola quantum) 8. Proximity rounds (explode on impact) Now then, people can stop complaining about the logo on the guns >.<

 

4 Quest (STILL UNDER MAJOR DEVELOPMENT, MAY NEED A WRITER TO HELP WITH STORY LINE)

 

Well now, that's all I have so far. Hopefully many of you share my fascination with Resident evil and will help bring this mod to life. Like the idea .. only question I have on weapons is why if the war happened in 2077 everyone falls back to the 1990s+ for weapons. Did weapon development stop in the 90s, just wondering. So if gonna use a g3 at least make it an advanced model that is say 60 years past today. Other then that great idea and hope you get folks to help .. I'd be happy to test (as to the others I am just getting back into some of that after many years out and don't think would be a help). If want ideas then again would help .... e.g. Infinity Repeater MkI (take your fav weapon incorporate the minigun backpack to it as an ammo storage unit and give it a load capacity of anywhere from 300-1000).

well its a very similar situation to the imperium in the Warhammer 40k universe. When the poo hits the fan no one makes anything new they just rely on what proved to be effective before. That would explain the use of older style weapons for Umbrella but theres also gonna be a few goodies for the player to earn by doing quest for umbrella like those UV bullets so dont worry.

 

Remember even if you have no skinning modeling or mapping skills we still need writers and we need your ideas so dont be afraid to contribute!

Despizer Is currently working on a SAS gas mask model to go with the armor.

 

Remember nothing is final and we might tweak the armor some more based on feedback.

Hi all I am new here.

 

So you have the same idea with me that bring back Umbralla to America (I am not lying, my long played character is called Hunk, the 4th surviver :) ). So if you made some NPC called Hunk, I will be very flustrated.

 

Actually I am a rookie in modding, I just success to change my texture of knife within this hour, and still learnng S~L~O~W~L~Y~~~, but my objective until now is to made a Umbralla special force gear like Hunk dress in Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, it should include:

 

- S10 mask

- AC200 combat helmet

- vest and uniform cannot be identified :(

- TMP submachine gun

 

Once again, I am a rookie, so I tried to mod the combat helmet, just to turn it black first to see what happened. I don't know how to use blender, I don't know what is Nif-Node, so it will be a long time to go.

 

Hope I can come to help as soon as possible

Two things ... might look at the sin city thread here, some of the buildings they are making look like they would be usable for the underground locations would need. Could ask them if would share with you (and vice a versa). Other idea is where did all the zombies come from here .. the naive think radiation, well maybe umbrella tried something when the bombs came down and it didn't work right ... multiple other people/animal effects possible if build this into the plot line.

Wow, now I like that idea and I like the way you think?

 

Would you like to help us write the story and quests? We have room for 2 more writers.

 

As for the guys working on the Sin city mod, I'll check into that, thanks.

 

 

I might upload the blueprint to the umbrella lab soon to give you guys a feel for it and hopefully encourage some mappers to help with the project.
