redrew89
EDIT: Actually, I was able to do this on my own. Using this guide, and a bit of futzing with Audacity, I was able to splice Brelyna's dismissal response with another NPC that uses the same voice type. It's not "perfect" and the subtitle still reads the default response, but it works. Sadly, as I mentioned, previously, the .fuz file itself still represents property of BethSoft/Zenni, so I can't really distribute it. Of course, given that I've never done any modding, and was able to make this happen in a matter of an hour, I imagine others who are interested in a quick dialogue fix of this nature would be able to pull it off. And, just so you guys can admire my (horrible) audio editing skills, here's a video showing before and after: http://youtu.be/d-bLb9I2ycA">http://youtu.be/d-bLb9I2ycA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"> TL;DR - Skip quote. Imagine, if you will, that you're working on a new play-through, with an emphasis on RPing as the character you've created. In this case, it would happen to be a Dark Elf. You've gotten to a point in the game where you feel as though your Dovahkiin deserves someone to come home to, after days of slaying dragons, crawling through draugr-infested ruins, and cutting down whatever bandits, thugs and wildlife happen to get in your way. As a dunmer, you may have your eye set on a particular college apprentice. So, after taking care of the nuptials, you move your new spouse into a home that you own.Now comes the fun part. Not content to let her just waste around, all day, you decide to bring her along on some adventuring. Her skills as a summoner and alteration expert come in quite handy, and she proves to be a worthy partner; both in matrimony and in combat. However, there comes a time where you want to send her home."You'll be alright on your own? Then I'll see you back at the college."No. No, you won't woman. You'll see me at the house I spent 10,000 septims building. You feel as though your immersion has been tossed gracefully from the very peak at the Throat of the World, to fall countless meters and smash upon the rocks below. This will not do.This is a proposal to fix the dismissal dialog for everyone's (okay, just us dunmer fan's) favorite college apprentice, so that she isn't so vapid when you tell her to go home. It doesn't have to be extremely convincing. For example, instead of the default line, it could be reduced to."You'll be alright on your own? As you wish."The existing lines are there, but would require alteration/splicing. I'm no audio expert, and the Creation Kit is complex enough to the point that I would likely break a good many things. The only other hurdle I could foresee with such a modification is the legal status of the dialog files. I imagine that, as property of Bethesda/Zenni, the original dialog would not be allowed to be altered and redistributed. As such, this may also require a voice actor to provide the "fixed" dialog.Am I being unreasonable, here? I mean, it's a small thing, but one that makes RPing a bit more difficult. Let me know what you think. Edited February 20, 2013 by redrew89
