deMaccusweil
Would it be possible to get these for non-hearthfire homes as well? And also different types to suit your character, so an evil necro vampire can have skeleton archers wandering around etc.
DarthLysis
EDIT: Did not notice OP links to Guards on Your home -hearthfire. The 1.6 version has been taken over with a new modder who might work with you on the conflict. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29467 Edited February 28, 2013 by DarthLysis
lolikols

There is mod called Guards on Your home -hearthfire. It hires 4 guards who guard your Hearthfire homes.

Works decent except at Lakeshore near the road at the mini stone henge the guards don't patrol that far
and I have to go wipe out the mage(s) who are anoying me.

With the guards in place my chickens and horse and cow are not molested. Haven't been attacked there either.

There is a 1.5 and 1.6 version. The mod was taken over by someone else so there are two pages.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25140

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29467

I havent used 1.6 yet as 1.5 does everything I need. But 1.6 adds 3 npc's who can buy armor for your guards. Haven't tried it but 1.6 is to have more added to it. Take a look at both one of them should fit the bill.

In my original post, you'll see that I already acknowledged that these two mods exist, and that both are insufficient, incomplete, and incompatible with another mod. But thank you for trying to help . Edited February 28, 2013 by lolikols
DarthLysis
Not sure what happened to my first post so I edited it. For how little time I spend at any of the hearthfire homes the work to payoff ratio is low to actually moding this. As to the guards just there, at first it did not work for me but then I remembered a jarl saying there are perks to being a Thane. So I figured ther jarl spread his/her patrols to cover my houses so there are my guards. Paying for 24x7 guards at 3 houses with 3 shifts a day plus weekend coverage comes to a lot of coin. I wouldnt mind paying for it either. That could be modded in as well. Sounds like a project for you to learn what goes in to modding. :) I would first edit out the tents or move them, then add features you want to see. Make sure to talk to the guy should you decide to release it. Talk to the modder of 1.6 he might move or eliminate the tents for Lakeview.

Belnick
I like this idea of hiring guards your self, having a small army keeping your home safe.I mean that is what i would do IRL if i had that much wealth as i have ingame :P
frank lee
Can I just say, hiring big ugly dudes to stand around??? Sorry but I'm the Archmage of Winterhold. Why wouldn't I be looking at a couple of graceful flame atronachs to float about. They dont need feeding or paying, they seem to be able to endlessly amuse themselves doing backflips and they only go for people who wish me harm.Failing that, a magic barrier such as the one the eye generated. It wouldn't have to be that powerful to see off the odd bandit. . . Point is a bunch of unemployables cluttering up my home seems, inellegent. jrege4
I really love the idea. What would be even better would be the ability spend gold to upgrade the armor, weapons or combat skills of your guards and even be able to set your guards as your follower to possibly escort or relocate the post of the guard. Maybe If you built a home inside a fort you could have archers patrolling along the surrounding walls. I really hope a modder picks up on this idea! MotherRussiaKA
I like the Idea of the mod. But might as well Console Comand Whiterun Guards to stand around outside of your house. Thats what I did
robithnurielhaq
have you tried Tundra Defense? Its primary purpose is to allow you to build your own outpost. After you build your outpost, you can hire guards as many as you want. You can hire stationary guards that stay on their place all the time or patrol guards that do patrolling between specific markers that you have defined beforehand. There are also perimeter guards that roam around your outpost. If you enable the advanced mode (after finishing the tutorial quest), you can place the guards wherever you want. So you can let the guards guard not only your homesteads (homes that you build, such as lakeview manor and heljarchen hall), but also homes that you buy (such as breezehome or proudspire manor). You can even put the guard at random places on the map. They will never disappear. If you want, you can make any of those guards your followers. One more thing, you can equip your guards with any armors or weapons that you have.
