Auto Link Copied Mods to Nexus

Sorry for vague title. I couldn't think of a good one.

So I put all my zip files onto a hard drive, as I changed computers, so I wouldn't have to redownload them all.

I put them in the downloads folder and Vortex recognises them.

However, is there some way to get Vortex to recognise them from the Nexus and fill in the data and link them so I can check for updates etc?

Or would I have to redownload them/manually put in the data?

select all your mods and look for the white bar at the bottom of the screen. There is an option "Guess ID's". Click that.

Thanks for your response.

I've done that much. I was hoping it would also complete links to the mod and version on the nexus but it doesn't.

double click any mod - a panel opens up on the right with all the meta data that it can find - as long as the mod originates from nexusmods. The link to the mod is there if you click 'visit on nexusmods.com', other details such as version etc is all there as well.

are you 100% sure that your mods originated from nexusmods.com?

So I double clicked as you said to get that panel open and set the source to nexus mods. It now recognises my mods thankfully.

But it still isn't auto-filling the version of mods or fixing the name of the mods. Any idea?

it does work, as long as the mod originated from nexusmods.com which is what i stated in my opening post.

is the mod 100% from nexusmods? if it isn't then nexusmods will not have any idea what the mod is or any other meta data and you will have to provide it yourself.

Well all I can say is that it's not working.

And yes, I only ever get my mods from nexus mods.

what mod is it you're trying to get metadata for? you've omitted that information.

also if you feel this is a bug - and i know from personal experience that some meta data for some mods is 100% incorrect, so i do not doubt you in the slightest - then I can advise you to open the vortex feedback by clicking three vertical dots and submitting as much information about the issue as you can.
