SlaveSelvera
Is it possible in the skyrim engine to change armour so that 1 point of armour increases your EHP (effective hit points) by x%? This would be done by a % damage mitigation, for example, if 100 armour increased your EHP by 100%, that would mean it takes 2ce as much damage to kill you, aka a 50% damage reduction, while 200 armour would increase your EHP by 200% -> which translates to 67% damage reduction. This would remove the need for an "armour cap", as it is impossible to get 100% damage reduction, therefore no matter how epic your gear is and how smithed/enchanted you make it, it always helps to have more, heavy armour would be useful again! However on the flip side, if you play a light armour character at the beginning of the game and only have some scrappy leather armour, it would still be useful, unlike what would happen in alternative mods today to make heavy armour useful by raising the armour cap/reducing the damage reduced per point. I would suggest somewhere in the order of 0.5% increased EHP per armour point, this would require 50 armour for 25% damage reduction, 200 armour for 50% damage reduction, 400 armour for 67% reduction, and 1000 armour to reach the current armour cap -> 80% damage reduction. This cap could also be removed, rewarding smithed high tier gear. (really, I can get to the armour cap with (light) stormcloak armour when it's smithed...)Note: This suggested system is the same that is used in Warcraft 3 (which had 6% EHP per point of armour) as well as most MOBA's that eventually spawned from the DotA map for it, including League of Legends (which has 1% EHP per point of armour). MonoGami
sounds good.so all we need isa way to remove the damage reduction from armor without removing armor pointsand a perk that increases health by a certain percentage based on current armor. i think the damage threshold system from fallout new vegas is a bit better, but it's WAY more complicated to implement in skyrim. SlaveSelvera
Actually I was looking more for a way to have each point of armour add less damage reduction then the previous one, according to a mathamatical formulae. (1st point of armour adds 1% damage reduction, 2nd point adds 0.99% damage reduction etc) increasing health could work... but you would have to also increase the magic damage taken, so that having heavy armour doesn't make you somehow uber magic resistant.
