SOGm8Vet
Hi everyone. I'm very new to the modding community. I've been spending most my time learning Source SDK, but I love a lot of the mods made for Skyrim and I want to contribute to it with the skills that I have (thanks to all modders for creating such an immersive experience for the game). My skill is in composing orchestral music, like Jeremy Soule. I've written music for several short films and I have two independent feature film projects coming soon to my workload. I know this isn't a new and "original" mod idea, but it's at least something I can contribute to the community. I have almost no experience with coding/scripting and I honestly don't think I could spend the time doing it. So what I had in mind was that if I wrote multiple pieces of music could someone then script them into a Skyrim mod? I saw this mod on Skyrim Nexus which is similar to what I'd like to do. If someone can point me in the right direction in figuring out this process, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks and keep up the good work! :)
Miles Tails Prower
I suggest getting in contact with the author behind Fantasy Music Overhaul. Without a doubt, that is the best Music mod for Skyrim. Contact him and submit your work, and he could add it. If you don't use it, I highly suggest you do. Made Skyrim so much more enjoyable for me. As far as I know, the process of adding music to the game is either two fold. Making a mod in the CK that adds the music separately so the original tracks stay in tact (You need to add your music to the proper folders: Battle, explore, etc) or replace the vanilla game music with the music you want. The latter of course, would still require a mod, but is less about making new music in the CK and just editing existing.
SOGm8Vet
Thanks for the tips. I think at this point, I'd like to create my own set of music, but I shall certainly consider adding it to Fantasy Music Overhaul.
Miles Tails Prower
Feel free to post here if you need anymore help, but I believe there's a ton of tutorials on how to add custom music into the game without replacing default files.
