remotecontrol
I need to know if this happens (happened) to anyone else and if so, how as it fixed? It seems to happen when I cast a spell or attack mostly, perhaps when something is about to attack me... Like I said, the screen freezes and the music keeps going. ctrl/alt/delete is the only way to get out of the freeze to exit out and restart. I had this same problem before... no one replied. I reinstalled oblivion and even got a nifty little thing called BOSS for the data folder, that helped alot as for ordering mods and whatnot. but still the problem persists... :ninja: ------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 12/29/2008, 17:38:23 Machine name: R3MOT3-PC Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080917-1612) Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion System Model: GG781AA-ABA a6110n BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz Memory: 3582MB RAM Page File: 960MB used, 6437MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Display Devices--------------- Card name: Radeon X1650 Series Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. bben46
This does not look like a hardware issue. It is most likely mod related. Try disabling all mods and see if it clears up. Then enable them two or three at a time while testing between each group. Hopefully you can narrow it down that way.
remotecontrol
I'll try that... it's weird though, it's only sometimes. My wife played for hours last night and nothing happened, I played a couple hours just now and nothing happened... then next time it could be every ten minutes it happens.
bben46
Crashes are part of the Oblivion experience. It's Oblivion's way of telling you to take a break.

thebigba
I get the same problem sometimes when I am ordering my partner to repair armor or to go loot a place. I think the problem lies somewhere in a package conflict, If i ever figure it out though I'll be sure to let you know :-) And yes the game crashing is a perfect time for a break from it.That was great :-)
