nojanath
Alright, I'm rather new to modding, got the creation kit not too long ago and have been playing with it, and came across one thing I haven't figured out how to play with and another that just makes my head turn a little bit. Firstly, is there anyway to mess with the appearance of the guards, not what they're wearing, but like their actual faces? From what I can tell they're a non race and you can't alter them, though I have noticed that with the npc editor you can mess with non races, as the editor assumes they're the fox race, though I haven't tested if it works or not through that. Also, I've played with a few npcs, and some of the redguards I mess with end up getting grey or white faces, despite what I do with the available complexion or skin tone. The face stays really pale but the rest of the body changes to suit. It happens with some of the other races too, but it doesn't bother me as much since the difference isn't nearly as striking. All NPCs are listed in the Object Window Actors/Actor. Guards (or any other Actor) are listed there. Even chickens xP Also,I've played with a few npcs, and some of the redguards I mess with endup getting grey or white faces, despite what I do with the availablecomplexion or skin tone. Again, in Actors/Actor, select the NPC you edited, and press CTRL+F4
Noobo
The guards in skyrim are divided into two different groups of actors:'Enc' guards are actors with specific faces = the faces of the guards. So if you want to change guard faces, use those. But it will affect ALL the guards that use this actor in the Lchar(i.e. EncGuardSonsF01FemaleNord)'Lvl' are guards which draw from a Lchar and template = the guards will spawn with a random 'enc' guard face. The Giant M which shows when u place an actor indicates that it draws on a template(i.e. LvlGuardSons)Some are just called 'guard' without enc or lvl. If when u place them in the render window, they have that big M, they will spawn a random face.Note: Lchar is a list of actors which a 'lvl' actor can use information from (this includes just the face, to AI packages, to entire actors) Edited February 23, 2013 by Noobo
