UlrikS
Um...On step 3 it tells me to put my texture in the field. Everytime i put it in i get an error saying "Invalid Directory" . I put my retexture as a .dds file into Fallout3\data\data\textures\2handmelee\(mytexturehere). This is not the wrong directory, is it? Also i cant find that file that has "_n" in it. Sorry but im just learning this stuff =lThe directory is Fallout3\data\textures\weapons\2handmelee\(mytexturehere) ;) The file with the '_n'-ending is the one wich is blue and purple, and controls how the light acts on the item, to make an illusion of depth. fosley
I put my retexture as a .dds file into Fallout3\data\data\textures\2handmelee\(mytexturehere). This is not the wrong directory, is it? Also i cant find that file that has "_n" in it. Sorry but im just learning this stuff =lFirst, it is the wrong directory. Get rid of one of the Data folders. It should be Fallout 3\Data\Textures\. . . Second, the original textures are stored in the .bsa files. Download Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM), open it, click "BSA unpacker", click "Open" in the BSA Browser window that pops up, it should default to your Fallout 3\Data directory -- if not, navigate there, open "Fallout - Textures.bsa", wait while it loads everything, find the file from the list (use the Sort functions to find it easily), click "Extract", voila! Better yet, just do "Extract all" on all the .bsa files, putting them in a folder somewhere for easy access. I recommend not putting them in your Fallout 3\Data folder, as you may have trouble figuring out which ones are modified and which ones are original, but it's up to you. cj577
BUMP - hopefully this will get attention =l actually an easier way is to make a Texture Set in Geck, Go to Misc. and scroll down to Texture Sets, also "Glint the Strong has a great video on YouTube for making Texture Sets. I would suggest viewing it , should take care of any questions you might have'
