Sarteka
I created a custom re texture for the Vault 101 security armor, anyway I need someone to create a mesh with this texture and the model so I can use it to create a custom armor that does not overwrite the security armor. I really don't know much about modeling. I could make a VERY basic 3d image, but I have no idea how the advanced functions of things like Nifskope work... If someone is willing to take on the task, they get their name added to the author list and I'll send out the texture ASAP. I could send it in .DDS or .PSD whichever is more convenient. DamianDrazhar
it's kinda easylet me recall ityou copy the original vault security armor mesh and save it somewhere and rename itthen past ot back to data/meshes and open it with nifscope, there is somwhere a path for the texture, take the texture you made and you can add it in the GECK I really hope this works :(
Sarteka
This particular mesh is missing the nifsourcetexture thing where i would put in my texture >.>
DamianDrazhar
hmm screens of your folder system and your particular problem would be quite helpful :) - go to the nitristrips/shape you want to texture and click on the BSShaderPPLightProperty- click on its child called BSShaderTextureSet- under block details you can now select your texture of choice have you done this? this is from the pinned tutorial
veliv
Even better, make a new texture set in the GECK, duplicate the old armor and apply the texture set to the new armor.Thats the best way to do it.
Guest Messenjah
I'm confused.... how can you apply the texture inside the GECK? I went into the armors section and I don't really see anywhere that allows me to apply a texture set to armors?
SpeedyB64
Texture sets can be applied by opening the armor in the GECK and selecting the model's edit button. In the window that pops up there will be a list of armor parts. What you do is make a texture set (under miscilanious I think) then double click (or right click ?) Then choose your texture set for each part. that should work.
Skree000
as a note, you usually create a model first, then create a texture after that... if you create textures first with the intention of making a model afterwards you might be in for some bad surprises :)
SickleYield
It's not necessary to "create" a new model when what he (or she) wants is just a retexture of an existing one. Texture sets in the GECK are ideal for that purpose; in fact, it's why they exist.
