Mods manually downloaded, how to install with Nexus Mod Manager?

Thank you WastelandAssassin :) nice to know that you want to help me :)

I found out that this problem is only coming up when all 2kTexture mods are activated. (dungeons, towns, misc, landscape) --> those are the FULL versions (my PC should be able to use them) If they are deactivated, there is no problem anymore :( but i want to use them.

If i extract the texture mods manually into the data folder of skyrim it might be work ... I must try that out :D

Would be glad to hear from you again :)

well, i don't really know about the 2KTexture mods, as my computer isn't strong enough to run with them (at least i don't think so..... haven't tried that)

have you just tried all or none of them??

could it be a specific one or a specific combination of a few??

i doubt that they could conflict, but everything is possible

not sure about unpacking them to the data folder, as it will be a pain to remove them (most probably)

just have in mind that you may need to reinstall the game if this doesn't work (unless you remember every texture that you put in your data folder......)

best of luck, and i hope it'll work out for you

see you when i'll be home next time ;)

I would try to avoid putting files manually into the skyrim installdir. The whole purpose of a mod manager is to control the mods by supervising the installation. With every manual installation a mod manager gets weaker and weaker.

You can try to install the light versions of the mods first and check if this works.

Hi WastelandAssassin :)

I still have some crashes, even without texture mods... But I learned to play with them and press F5 often :( Even with the LIGHT mods it doesnt work, but my system should do that:

Intel Core i7, 3610QM (2,6 GHz each core -> up to 3,1 GHz with Turbo Boost)

Nvidia Geforce GT 650M (2 GB GDDR5)

16 GB RAM (4x4 GB)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

...

think the rest isnt that important...

I dont know what the problem could be. I´ve tried now each constellation with mods and I can say that it´s only texture mods fault.

Still any ideas left? :)

well, as far as i know, Skyrim can use up to 4 GB of RAM, and i think it only uses one core of your processor, but i'm not 100% sure of that

even so, it doesn't look like you should have many problems

i would check to see if everything is installed correctly, and that you have a proper load order

maybe even do a Master Update (using TESVEdit)

also, make sure that you have the required files for all your mods, and the unofficial patches for all the DLCs you have, plus the one for the original game (not sure if it's related to the problem, but could solve problems)

not really sure i can help any more without seeing your load order and which mods you are using, so i guess i'll need more info to help spot the problem

Yeah I'm having trouble with this file uploader, maybe I just don't know how to use it. I downloaded a mod from Nexus, then downloaded the mod manager, and then I tried to add the mod by going to the "add mod from file" button. It all seemed pretty straight forward but every time I try to do this, NMM tries to download the mod instead of install it. Every single time I select the 7zip file it opens this stupid little download tab and whines that I am not connected to the internet and cannot complete the download.
First of all, I do not have internet available at the same time I'm playing skyrim, so letting it re-download the file for no reason is not really an option. Second of all, why is it doing this in the first place? How do I just instal the mod?
