VincentProxy
Hello all and thank you in advance for any help given. I noticed around the time I updated my creation kit and game to the newest available version 1.8.151.0 I started getting a repeated error every time I click "full preview" in the CK to view the char model. The error pops up about 50 times at once and crashes the CK. The error message is "Assert File C: Skyrim\ code\ tesv\ BSShader\ BSRenderTargetGroup.cpp". I've tried everything I can think of including making sure my SkyrimEditor.ini has the lines "sLanguage=ENGLISH" under General, and that all DLC's .bsa files are listed in SResourceArchiveList2. Also even when I dont click "full preview" and I just edit the head, finish, highlight the actors name and press Ctrl+F4, and save the file once I start my game the edited character still has a discolored/dark face even though I know I did Ctrl+F4. Sorry for the lengthy post but I've been looking for a solution for hours and I'm at my whits end. Thank you all again.
VincentProxy
We'll Im still at a loss as to what is causing this. I tried uninstalling the CK and re-installing it but it still gives me the same exact CTD at full view model. Also any changes to characters in the CK regardless of Ctrl+F4 still cause the dark face glitch. I'm really wondering if this new Dragonborn update isnt to blame but then why haven't I read of anyone else having this problem...
VincentProxy
Well for anyone who has this issue in the future I'm posting this because I believe I found the problem. I had a mod installed called "Better Vanilla Hairs" that was causing the CK crashes. I discovered it by going down the line trying one mod at a time until I found what broke things. With this mod uninstalled all problems stopped. I'm not saying it was the mod creators fault either as I may have just installed it wrong or be missing something necessary that's my own fault for not getting. Either way if you have this problem make sure you don't have that particular mod in your load order.
Guest deleted2884383
Do you have "Hearthfire" in the line code? Make sure you're spelling it right. It's spelled "HearthFires.bsa" Capital "H", capital "F" and an "s'. It took me an hour to figure out I had the wrong spelling. Hope that helps.
