Help! characters revert to start state on reload, all scripts re-run

I’ve got my new modded Skyrim SE install looking the best I’ve ever seen Tamriel, but I have a pretty big problem. Whenever I try to load a saved game it resets my inventory to my starting gear, and even worse, all the MCM menus / mod scripts are re-run as if it’s a brand new game being set up for the first time. Sometimes if I die, my game will just CTD as it tries to load.

This makes it impossible to play my new modded game. This time around (after my first few major playthroughs where I modded SSE til it broke) I started off my fresh install with a STEP SSE to make a good game foundation, then added all the other mods after I knew that the STEP version worked. I have run LOOT through MO2 many many times to whittle down errors and patch to allow compatibility between mods. I have 2x Form 43 errors and 1x missing master error (posted below the mod list):

It's pretty hefty but here’s my load order:

You have one or more plugins that are not form 44. They are:

3DNPC.esp (form 43)

Lake Ilinalta Retreat.esp (form 43)

Master dD - Enhanced Blood Main LITE.esp
Required By Step Skyrim SE - CR Patch.esp

I don't know what to do with the missing master, I installed the other Enhanced Blood mod instead. Would that or the form 43 errors be causing such a huge issue with my game? I'm desperate

Oof. You have a lot of mods. Personally , I've been running into a lot of missing master errors. It seems a lot of plugins still need to catch up the latest version of skse , etc... I have this issue a lot with the Cutting Room Floor. I ended up disabling everything related to it and i can play much longer without a CTD.

Your best bet is to probably disable the Step Skyrim SE - CR Patch (I'm assuming that's cutting room floor related). Also you might need to do a disable all , then slowly re-enable to see what the problem is. That may seem daunting but if you enable mods in groups of like 5 or 10 it wont take u that long.

Thanks heaps for the reply Pilphter.

I think more than anything this is the main problem: Every time I load my game: What would cause all my mods to reload with their scripts re-run - basically my whole MCM menu resets - and my perks reset with my skill points gone? It's beyond frustrating. Is this a load order thing?
Can anyone help? (pleeease for the love of god :wallbash: )
