Save Game Conuter

My save game counter was up to about 2400. I downloaded a saved game that was at 9006. Now everytime I save it counts up from 9006. I tried renaming and then deleting the downloaded saved game but the counter never reset and still counts up from 9006.

Just wondering if there is a way to reset it.

I've used Wrye Bash for most save games "fixes".

 

However, yours wouldn't be fixed by it..if I'm reading you right. Sometimes this trick works, sometimes it doesn't, but here goes.

 

Start up Oblivion and load the save. Once inside the game alt+tab out and go to your saves folder. Move all the saves to another folder on your desktop. Then go back to the game and try saving that way.

 

Another alternative is to use the ~ key. You use it, type in Save ____(insert name of your choice here) and then hit enter. You can then use this feature to make all your saves with different names. I'd make 3 different ones. Once you have these saves, delete or move the numbered ones.
