i am sorry if this is a stupid question,i read it before on google that skyrim has mod limit like 250 plugin.

is that mean if i install mod more than 250 i will have issue in my game?

because i didn't realize before in my game i have like 289 plugin in vortex but the game still run ok,CTD in between but still ok

i know that you can merge mods with tesedit so you can run 1000 mod ,but my question is,if i ever reach the limit, will vortex tell me not to install anymore?

please fast response because right now iam uninstalling my mod so it stays in 250 plugin/esp

here is the limit picture i mention

The max limit is technically 255, and it pertains to the number of "active" plugins, not mods.

You can "ELS-isify" plugins to make them "light" (load into an alternate area that is not constrained by the 255 limit).

If you use Vortex the process is very easy to accomplish.

  1. Open the "plugins" tab of vortex
  2. in the "Flags" column header, select "Could be light"
  3. double click on the name of a given plugin that is showing once step two is done
  4. A panel will pop open on the right side of vortex.
  5. scroll down in the right side of the popup panel until you see a heading marked "Light"
  6. click the "mark light" button

Any plugin so treated will be subtracted from the "active plugins" group without having to lose said plugin/mod

It can be done in other mod managers too, but I'm afraid I don't know how to. There are other people here who can guide you if you use MO2 or one of the others.
