Deleted3765355User Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 As the title suggests, the distant trees in my game do not load properly until I'm closer to them. Is there any way to make them load whenever I look in their direction? I currently use the Flora Overhaul, HD Trees, and Bigger Trees mods. But this issue is relevant even when they are disabled. It's just more obvious when they are on.
Belial666 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 You can increase the amount and distanceLook for these, and increase em:uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=20fTreeLoadDistance=75000.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=2048.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=2844.0000fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=10000000.0000
Deleted3765355User Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 I've edited the ini and pref files a few times now, and it doesn't seem to be taking effect. Any idea why?
Belial666 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Make sure not to use the buttons to set the quality after editing,or they may revert back to original settings. If you changed the uGridsToLoad to lower than 5,then it needs to be changed back to 5,some use up to 7 to see farther.Only mess with it on a test save, cause it can make it unplayable sometimes,or cause stability issues when too high for your system. Try these values which are 2x to 4x changes: uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=80fTreeLoadDistance=150000.0000fMeshLODLevel2FadeTreeDistance=8192.0000fMeshLODLevel1FadeTreeDistance=11376.0000fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=20000000.0000
Deleted3765355User Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 I'm actually using those exact values haha. Oddly enough though, I have no uGridsToLoad option in my pref folder? I saw a tutorial earlier saying to utilize it, but since I saw that I didn't have it for whatever reason, that it would be fine to ignore. What should I do about that?
Belial666 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Under [General] in Skyrim.ini you can add uGridsToLoad=5,which is default, even if it's not in your ini file.Higher can let you see farther, but at a cost of performance, depending on machine, and HD texture mods with it higher can slow things down more.
