nivea
I make armors for me, I fit them to the bodies I use and thats the support I give. So you want me to spend 30 hours working on a armor, rigging it and making the _1 for both male and female versions (so thats 4 items already). Then on top of that another 40 hours converting it to UNP/CBBE/NHGIHG/DDDDD++++/DDJJJJJJ+++++++++++++, female bodies when I dont even play female characters? I think that is absurd, I know some modders who thrive on the attention on doing that kind of stuff but I am not one of them. Modding is for fun, it stops being fun for ME after I HAVE to make a female version but I do so everyone can enjoy the items. You say its advertising for body mods, but you know what I dont give a crap about their advertising. Im sorry, its just they advertise their bodies through the image share section enough as it is on top of all the skin textures. They dont need me to do that for them. RGMage2
When I was playing Oblivion it was all about what I wanted; I knew which body mods I wanted to support and I knew which one I didn't want to support and I stuck to that. But after having been away from it for over a year I don't feel so strongly about it anymore. Now that I'm not actually playing I feel more inclined to please other people rather than just pleasing myself. With Skyrim I've only released one mod (not an armor and no original modals) and it only supports vanilla because that's what I used for myself when I made it, but I've sort of resolved not to get attached to any of the body mods (or vanilla) this time around. If I make any original outfits for Skyrim I'll probably just choose the most popular body mod and go with that. That way there will be less people wanting conversions and I should be less likely to be pestered about it. I can't see making something compatible for all the body mods, even if I wanted to do it the amount of time involved would be ridicules. I would have to be nuts to do that. But if someone else wants to go down that road, then more power to them.
budcat
I'm only just starting to maybe even think about considering planning on getting into custom armor work in Skyrim but I don't use custom bodies or even play female characters so already this issue irks me. Most custom bodies are about sexing up the character right? 90% of the pictures I see are of two-strap thongs, it's mostly naked butt cheeks. So why go through the effort of making your armor compatible with body mods? People are likely to tell me that my armor doesn't show enough skin anyway. Most of the time I make mods for myself and release them publicly only because it seems pointless to hoard a complete creation that could so easily be shared. With that in mind, any armor I create is likely to be for Vanilla-bodied males and people will just have to deal. I suck at modding, I have limited time, the kudos and thanks are paltry trade-offs for the soul-killing "your shizz sux" comments, etc. So more often than not I come to the conclusion that if people want things to change they can learn to do it themselves like I did. There is no excuse for ignorance in the age or search engines. Edited April 29, 2013 by budcat
