Options for opening & saving dds files in PhotoShop

OK... this has probably been covered somewhere but I haven't been able to find it.

I simply (?) want to change some of the in game wall posters and adverts to reflect the post-apocalyptic world of FO3. Like the billboards & posters found on walls and inside some of the establishments in Megaton & elsewhere.

When I load dds files into PhotoShop I have the option to load the dds images with or without the MIPs maps.

If I load without using the MIP Maps -

or this?

loading either this

http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-4.jpg

or this

http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-5.jpg

so I edit the poster image to this:

http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-6.jpg

and save as enclaveposterhoriz01.dds - using the same filename & same path -

http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-7.jpg

Assuming that I load the first "single" image without the MIPs map & drop a new opaque layer on top of the poster image - same size filing the space exactly and then save back to the exact same file name & path - will this automatically alter or change the MIPs map so it will work in the game? Or will I have to do something else? Additional steps? How?

Thanks for any advice.

Thank you NeoK... I opened the dds file for the bulletin board at the kid's birthday party & changed it to reflect - well to reflect my concept of a post-apocalyptic survival bunker after 200 years of relative sensory deprivation. Gee... do you think that maybe the survivors would get a little weird? I do... either that or the overseer has to dump lots of Paxil in the water supply!

Anyway... I opened the file as http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-2.jpg to get an image similar to http://www.perroloco.net/images/PSScreenies/PS-4.jpg after editing, I saved in DXT5 making sure to select the "generate MIP maps" option. Then I placed the resultant .dds image file into my D:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\textures\clutter folder and voila! Image works in game.

Again... thank you.
