Good game for me?

I'm looking for something simple, a game with a high amount of gore and customize-able weapons. An FPS would be preferred. Graphics can be anywhere between Low and Very High.

Here is a list of games you could look at. They are also all pretty good games.

 

For me a game without an interesting story or something unique about it isn't really worth playing no matter what features they put into it. Postal 2 isn't really that good but it is funny. AVP 2010 is just ok. Chivalry and Killing Floor are multiplayer. I can't speak on how good Fear 3 or Dead Space 3 are. The rest have enjoyable plots.

Thanks, and I agree with your point about a games story, but I have been playing so many story based games lately (Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption, Half Life 2) that i just wanted a good simple shooter! :biggrin:

Bulletstorm
This is all about killing enemies quickly in creative ways with a lot of gore. It's fast and fun, with good graphics, but don't expect a mind-blowing experience. There's no gun customization. The multiplayer can be fun, but imo gets old fast, especially since there's always one guy who doesn't understand the objective and ruins it for everyone. The single player is the main attraction.


Borderlands series
Thousands of random guns, a lot of gore, an open world, and fast combat. Overall a great series with great multiplayer capabilities. No weapon customization, but there are thousands of randomly generated weapons and pieces of loot.


Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
An underrated gem that pioneered the idea of a "fantasy first person shooter". There's gore, intense, detailed combat, and just enough story to keep the player interested as you kick people into spikes and cut off heads. It's not perfect, but the graphics still hold up well and it runs on Windows Vista, 7, or 8 as long as you have the latest patch. Make sure you get the patch, however, because it's kind of broken without that. There's *technically* weapon crafting, but you won't get to use it very often since forges and materials are rare.


Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
This is an online game available on Steam, and perhaps other platforms. It's another fantasy fps, and pits players against each other in a variety of gory fights. Objectives range from throwing corpses into the enemy well, to slaughtering everyone in a spike-covered arena. There's quite a lot of violence, action, and dismemberment, and the graphics are quite good. You unlock new weapons as you progress, and there's quite a well-balanced selection. The community is very angry, however. They don't like it when people kill them, and they'll sometimes rage at people.

Maybe Dead Island, not sure about custom weapons but definitely has gore. Plot leaves a lot to be desired, but graphics are pretty well and gameplay is also great. Edited March 9, 2013 by alanarg

Dead Island has weapon crafting. And yes, the graphics are good and there's extreme gore. :P
