billypnats
Hi, I just started modding small things in FO3 today, starting with character faces, but I can't seem to find the presets for the faces.
RyuaNesha
I was snooping around the GECK yesterday and I noticed an interesting option in the NPC window. Use as face gen preset (or something similar). So it is most likely that they are actually NPCs.

jaosals42
If you are trying to find the character presets in the GECK (For editing and such purposes), you can find them in the "Objects" window, "Actor", "NPC" and go down to CGPresetAfricanAmericanF01 and below to find the presets in the game. If you wish to edit them, there are two other ways besides going to randomization, or to the "Face advanced" menu and manually changing the slider. If you want a preset to have the face of another in-game NPC, you can go down to the ID of another character in the list (Not one of the CGPresets; they're not npc's) and open up that window. Then, go to "Face Advanced" and click "Copy" at the bottom of the menu. Then, return to the preset you were editing and return to "Face Advanced" while in the window of the preset you are editing. Then, click the button right next to "copy" and it will generally create a face like that of the NPC whose face you copied. You may need to repeat this a couple of times though for best results. Option 2: Stay in the window of the preset you are editing (Don't open a new window). Go to either "Face" or "Face Advanced" and checkmark "Head" off to the left of "Preview" near the very bottom of the window. You should now see a face of the preset you are editing. Now, you can right-click on any part of the face you wish to edit and, with right-click still being held down, move the mouse around (Or trackball) in directions, however, dragging it too far will result in deformation. Example: You want to widen a character's nostrils. Right-click their nose and hold down that button. Move the mouse or trackball off to the side away from the nose. Their nostrils should expand when you pull away, and contract when you pull back toward the nose. Letting go of the right-mouse button will freeze the image where it was when you let go and that is the shape it will now have. If you're not pleased with the results of the edit, you can always click cancel on the bottom-left corner of the NPC editing window (Note that sometimes it won't show up as "cancel", but rather something else; I don't remember exactly what it says, but as long as you click it and not "Ok", it won't save the settings). All of this is also possible with regular NPC's (Not just the presets).
