Quest problem

Several times I have had to stop quests due to the NPC not having a new response when I complete a part of the quest. The latest is Joffre not responding with a new "spies in Bruma" just after I completed the quest for the amulet of kings and got the mystic book. Thee have been others also, one of the cities has an evil guard captain and I find his journal in his room and report back to the guy in the castle hall with the proof, these characters do not repond with any new statements and the quest cannot go forward.

 

I am running the latest version of the game, i downloaded it from the net. I have restarted the game several times thinking a new start would welp but this is a random thing.

 

any help???

are you sure that you have spoken to everyone that you need to

this happen to me once and it turned out that i hadnt spoken to a couple of characters that i needed to

i hope this helps its the only answer i have cause im pretty new to all this
