KittyOfKhaos
Hello everyone! Just to get a few things over with, before I start with explaining my problem; I just got the PC version of Skyrim yesterday, and I'm pretty new to using steam and the Nexus site, along with the NMM. I have played Skyrim MANY times before, but on a PS3, and I guess you understand that I may have some difficulties getting started with modding the game.... *coughcough* I'm a noob. *cough* Now, back to my problem. For some reason, Skyrim won't start properly. I only see and hear the Bethesda "load screen" at the beginning, and then the skyrim window suddenly disappears. I have downloaded about 45-50 mods, and installed them via Steam/NMM. I have an old saved file, from when I borrowed my friends copy, so I thought it would've been okay modding it, without any problems.... Any how, I'm going to try running it without any mods and slightly lower performance and graphic qualities, but, if none of that works, do any of you have a possible solution, and have you encountered this issue before? Please reply quickly, because I'm DYING to play Skyrim... xDDD (Ignore any wrong grammar/spelling. English is not my main-language.... eue) Thanks! ilikecheese1337
You haven't tried to load the save, so that won't be the problem, but I'd still advise a new save. Run BOSS (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6) to get your load order right, and if you still can't open Skyrim:1. Make sure you don't have any mods that require DLCs or other mods that you don't have. An .esp looking for an .esm that doesn't exist is a sure-fire way to make Skyrim keel over. Also make sure you don't have mods that conflict with one another. 2. Uninstall all the mods, load Skyrim, see if it works (if it doesn't, I'm afraid you'll have to reinstall Skyrim) and make a new save if it does. Now install your mods a few at a time, running BOSS for load order, until you get the crash. Then you can narrow it down to the mod causing the crash and diagnose the problem. The mod author should help. Good luck!
