Can't keep changes by console showracemenu...

As above, I usually used the console command show racemenu for my player char, even as I already was a vampire and could alter my face and eyes and hair and such, but now face complexion and eye color changes won't work.

I can actually change the settings and watch the result, I leave the menu by "done" and typing my players name and enter again and even after leaving the menu the changes are still there. I save my game, restart Skyrim, load the game again and the changes have reset...

I get no CTDs while using the race menu and I know I should not touch the actual race and sex of my player char...and I never used any player race changing mods...

Any idea?

Was just googling for this type of issue as I've got the same problem with eyes resetting to option 1, every time I load a save or every time I enter showracemenu again. Changes made only stay put during the current session, minor problem but annoying.

When you are making the changes are you a vampire? If so you will need to change your race so you are no longer a vampire, make your changes and change the race back to a vampire. The vampire race is just an overlay of the base race so any changes as a vampire will not stay.

Tried this. When I changed my race back to non vamp my eyes reverted to their old color by themselves, when i changed back to a vamp the overlay just re -overlayed.

I think I found a fix for this, mine works. If you have Dawnguard and have also installed the mod Normal Dawnguard Vampire Faces, what you can do is go to showracemenu in the console as your mortal race (player.setrace (yourrace) ) And then make the changes you desire to keep. Make a save of this file and exit to desktop, open up your mod manager or otherwise uninstall the Normal Dawnguard Vampire Faces mod and re-enter Skyrim. Change your race to vampire. Save and exit again. Then re-install the mod you just installed. What the mod does is it makes a copy of the mortal face so when you are a member of the vampire race, it overlays the normal human head on top in a separate location, and one way around that is to create an entirely new 'vampire' face by uninstalling the mod and re-installing it after creating the mortal/vampire face you desire. Hope this helps!
