Resize/Rescale NIF

ZippyDSMlee - Hello!

Radius in the explosion settings in GECK controls the area that the explosion affects, anything in that area will be pushed & damaged accordingly.

To make the actual explosion effect bigger, use Scale in the .nif.

For example with explosiongrenadefrag.nif, open it in Nifskope & expand BSFadeNode.

Left click on the very first NiNode to bring it's details up in the Block Details at the bottom.

Within that locate "Scale", it's set to 1 by default.

Changing the scale will make the explosion bigger, bear in mind that going vastly bigger will probably lose detail so don't go over the top. :)

I've not enlarged this type of explosion before but brief testing with various scales seemed to work fine.

Remember though that it's the settings in GECK that make the push & damage of an explosion the .nif is just the visual.

Hope this helps!

Tried changeing scale for hours nothing worked. I need it like 5-10

times smaller and since you can only scale up it seems its driving me

crazy. Also when you up radius in the explosion form type it not only

scales up the radius of damage but the size of the visual explosion. So

if I want a tiny explosion for visual sake and a 3 or 20 times larger

damage radius I am screwed trying to change scale, at least useing it in

this manner. ><

"Tried changeing scale for hours nothing worked. I need it like 5-10 times smaller and since you can only scale up it seems its driving me crazy."

You can scale explosiongrenadefrag.nif down.

I just tried, set the Scale to 0.05 & it made a tiny little explosion. It was with all the default GECK grenade settings so it still had a big effect area as normal but that's easily adjusted. The explosion was tiny.

Some people that have explosive weapons use the Guass rifle explosion.

That minigun looks like something Eulogy Jones would use. :)

I don't know if you're looking for detailed information:

Or if you just need to know how to attach new textures to a model in Nifskope, bottom of this page:

http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Basic_Guide:_From_Modeling_Program_to_the_GECK

That also has a lot of useful information.

Hope this helps!

After trying again I figured it out so I can shrink stuff now!

Thank you so much!

Tried the Gauss explosion nif...its eats more power than the grenade explosion nif :P

Okay so now I need to make a lite version, going to use the lazer muzzle

flash but how to I change the time on it so it lasts only 1 second?

Okay will let you know how far I get with the rest of it. LOL
