Different texture for a downloaded .nif

Hello,

I hope this makes sense..

I've managed to make copies of an existing armor and give different texture etc. and add them in the game uding the GECK.

for example I have 3 'metalarmor' one in blue, one in green, one in yellow etc. and all works fine in the game.

Now I've been looking at the downloads section for a new mesh/model that the game didn't have or was in the bsa for me to extract from,

and I came acorss 'AleksMarch_FemaleBodyReplacer1_1-1186'

Seems to work fine when installed.

Decided to have go at replacing the texture. So I exported the Template from the .nif, and saved it as a .dds files

Back in Nifskope I applied my .dds to the model. Worked fine my new texture showed up.

Note:

for this to work I had to replace the:

textures/characters/raiderfemale/upperbodyfemale.dds

and not the:

textures/characters/female/upperbodyfemale.dds

for it to work for some reason.

After some messing I've managed to get the texture to show up in the game.

But I want to make more of this model one in blue, one in green, one in yellow etc

I copied the original .nif file, and renamed them to blue, green, yellow.

made 3 dds file, blue, green, yellow.

applied them in NifSkope and shows up fine.

create 3 new armor in the GECk called blue, green, yellow.

loaded up fallout, and all 3 of my new armor will only show the 'upperbodyfemale.dds' and not the ones I did.

No matter what I do or how many nif or dds files I make, all the .nif file will only show the 'upperbodyfemale.dds' when I'm in the game.

Is there a reason for this? am I missing something that I needed to do?

Thank you for any help.

Hi, can't seem to find this material ID's you are refering to in Nifskope.

I've told it to not link to any dds texture file by removing the link in 'BSShaderTextureSet'

but in the game it still shows the original texture.

How should I go about telling it not to refer to any textures at all fully?

thank you.
