doctorhr2
I'm trying to figure out how animated textures work in Skyrim and I thought I'd check out the ore veins... only I can't find them in the meshes. Has anyone come across them? Alternatively, has anyone found any useful resourses for dealing with animated textures? I'm looking to have lights blinking on and off or be turned on and off by a lever/button.
steve40
I don't recall ore veins having animated texturesThere's a mod that makes them glow, but it is not vanilla :P Animated textures are generally handled using a Membrane Shader in the EffectShader forms under SpecialEffect. doctorhr2
Ah, okay... what I meant was the change from the ore vein before you mine it and after. I want to know how the 'switching' of the texture is done.

doctorhr2
Some one somewhere must know (I hope!). I suppose I should have said the animating of textures.
exploiteddna
all you should have to do is open up CK, load a cell into the render window that you know has ore veins in it, find the ore vein in the render window, right click on it and you can get any of the info you want. Once you know the name and location of the mesh, you can open it in NifSkope and see which textures are assigned to it. Then you can go pull those textures out and open them in photoshop or whatever program you want
