change race without reset of stats

When I try to change race, skills drop to their base levels and all training is lost. Is there a mod that allows me to transfer previous skill levels and that it doesn't require new game?

 

i tried "Skill Recorder for Race Change" but it doesn't work o_O

When you finish editing the race save before clicking done.

Then reload the new save and you should still have all your stats.

when i become a new race, i put my level and stats back up by typing in the cheat menu 'player.setav' then look on your menu and look at the two sections what have things like strengh and speed and personality. by typing them all back up you can put everything back to normal but may take a few mins depending on how fast you are at typing like...

 

if i type...

''player.setav speed 100''

my speed will be set at 100 and so on.

[ps you can also do the same thing with health, magica and fatige if you want them up to what ever you want]

There is an easyer way like bossdweebee said, you open up your cheat console (`) and type showracemenu you change your race etc. then you save. if the save option is grayed out then open your cheat console before saving. then you load your now saved game.

 

NOTE!!!! your birthsighn/abilities will now be gone. dont ask me why but anyway i hope i helped :whoops:

The way to do it is:

 

Open the Console (~), then type: showracemenu

Now this is the important bit, DO NOT CLOSE THE CONSOLE.

 

Now change what you want; Age, gender, race, hair etc... You can change everything but the name.

 

Without closing the console, press Esc and save the game. (If you cannot save the game, something is wrong.) Once saved, click Load and load the save you just made.

 

Everything will be changed to what it should be (your skills/attributes will change a little, because you'll lose the Racial bonuses of the old race).

As for keeping your Birthsign powers:

 

Open the Console (~), type in: showbirthsignmenu

(I'm not sure about this part, but its still a good idea not to close the console)

 

Pick your Sign and click Done. Everything should be back to normal.

Go figure? I've been playing this game since release, and I have certainly used the console, and construction kit my fair share of times. Yet I never realized you could save your stats by simply saving while the console is still open. :wallbash: And for years here I was just changing my characters hairstyle, saving then importing the face to a previous save with Wyre Bash! This is so helpful as I do tend to change my hairstyle a lot with the console.
