monty1969
Forgive my ignorance..I'm new here, and new to installing mods in Fallout3. I've downloaded the new texture pack, 'Landscape Texture Tune up'.The readme says to install the Data file to the root dir...but there is already a 5GB Data folder in my Root directory, and replacing this with the smaller texture pack, causes the game to fail on startup. My root dir is /fallout3, should i be placing this mod within a subdir, or somewhere else..? Thanks for the help.

You're not supposed to replace the data folder (seems you found that out the hard way). What you want to do is open up the data folder from the mod, take out the texture folder in it, and then place that in the data folder in the root dir. Hope that helps. :) Also, don't forget the other instructions (archive invalidation, etc..).
