The first time I use any weapon it pops up and I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to holster the %&^$%* thing. While I'm at it, is there a list of all the short cuts in the game anywhere?

It isn't a stupid question. I had to ask the same thing. :) I shall pay it forward now by telling you - hold the button down. Yup, it's that simple, same with holding the PipBoy button down for the light. Cheers.
