Crashing upon launching.

My game crashes whenever I try to launch it. The main menu screen flickers for an instant, and then the whole thing closes automatically. Please help.

 

Here's my load order (it's pretty long, I know).

Is your load order from BOSS? It looks strange to me, and it also seems like you may be using several versions of mods where you are needing to only chose one (like Cloaks).

If you are not using BOSS, I would suggest you download and run it. If you are using BOSS, I'd suggest you read the log it generates, and take care of all the messages it gives you.

I actually learned about BOSS about 2 minutes after posting this. After some screwing around in BOSS, I got a new load order. The game no longer crashes before it can get to the menu, BUT once I try to load a save it stays at the load screen forever. The only way out is ctrl + Alt+ delete, where it says skyrim is "Not responding." I guess that still qualifies as a "Crash," but nothing about the load menu itself is wrong. It is just stuck there permanently.

Have you read the BOSS log? There are a few things I can see that would generate messages from BOSS that you need to take care of, for example the Cloaks thing. After you address all of those, you can paste your BOSS log easily in a post--just have it generate the log as a .txt file, then copy/paste. Enclose in spoiler tage, cause it's pretty long.

 

In addition, you may want to try disabling the ApachiHair Females and ApachiiHair Males (not the main one), because they can cause the hang you are describing.

Also, you have a bunch of mods unrecognized by BOSS, you need to manually place them properly, if you have not already. I would double check those in particular to make sure you have all that the mod author requires and that they are compatible with your other mods, since that won't show up on the BOSS log for unrecognized mods.

 

Edit: Just had a nother thought--are you starting a new game with all this, or are you adding mods to a game you've been playing a while? If it's a new game, I'd exit Helgen before adding anything, mod-wise.
